I cannot speak on the LAUNCH product although it does look interesting . As for the OTC product generally speaking they make good wheel chocks.

There are no tools on the market other than originals that can compete with maxisys
right now despite everything this is the best, if they decide in future updates to
degraded it then I just won't upgrade, according to autels responds to my post they are
still upgrading the tool and nothing has been droped, some other stuff they are not so
sure so they are looking into it and blaming it of software glitches, hopefully that is
what happen and life goes on. If evrybody decides to sue autel then for sure they are
going to sue everyother tool maker, we are going to be the only one to have original
softwares and functions since we have all this backup made. My thoughts anyway.

Or you can go oem. GM tech2 and mdi= 7k +3100 yearly complete sub.ford
    vcm2,1500+800 yearly sub.chrysler drb3 used +witech/wipod 7k+1800 yearly sub.
This is just to do american cars you need more than 20k to start, the same goes for
asian vehicles and twice as much for europeans. At a total of between 70 to 100k and
the yearly subs around 30k. Now you know how good and cheap the maxisys is or can
    be.

I have backups from my tool but don't know if they will work on other tools, I am
checking into this. Mean while do a backup of the one you have at this moment, our
softwares can get better but its not unuseable, its still very good even with the few
    defects.

agree, if i didnt have all the tools i have now i would have gone this way a masisys 905 and cardaq with dealer subs. abrites is good for certain special functions like immo, cluster, etc but its not a good diagnostic tool, and expensive.

I WILL ADMIT THE MAXISYS IS THE FASTEST DIAG TOOL I EVER USED,BY THE TIME I
GET THE IDS OUT AND BOOTED UP I'VE ALREADY DONE A FULL AUTO SCAN ON A
VEHICLE.I HOPE THIS TOOL ONLY GET'S BETTER.

yes it is, also very convenient, the auto scan is great, also the auto detect, having used the tech2 for many years and entering all this digits from the vin number, not needed with the maxisys, i wish this option get fully develop for all vehicles. its based on original tools but with a better layout very user friendly and way faster than any tool original or aftermarket or at least most tools in my opinion and i have used many.
